GUN CONTROL: A TACIT ADMISSION OF IMPOTENCE AND FAILURE

In the aftermath of the Newtown, Ct. tragedy our elected officials have either been in an absolute frenzy to condemn firearms and those who own and use them or they have been strangely silent. Frankly, it’s the silent officials that worry me most.

The frenzies are mostly on the left of the political spectrum. They are calling for bans on guns and ammo. They want to limit the size of magazines. They want to see registration and background checks and the fingerprinting of law abiding citizens. And of course, they wish to impose taxes, fees, and surcharges for every sale, registration, permit, background check, and fingerprinting done. It’s a nice little racket and it matters not to them that it will be for naught in stopping another Newtown or Columbine from happening.

I say it will all be for naught because these laws and procedures to not deter a determined criminal bent on destruction nor will they stop the demented and/or evil from wreaking havoc on us all.

The simple truth is that government is powerless to prevent these types of mass tragedies from happening. They are impotent. But those in government will never admit to that. Their egos will never allow it.

Unfortunately Virginia, there is no Santa Claus and the government does not have all the answers.


Our government’s failure (one of many) has been its mental health policies over the last forty years. They have done nothing to prevent the release of mentally unstable people, people who are a danger to themselves and to others. I realize that this is a somewhat slippery slope but doing nothing is unacceptable. They have failed by their inability to even try to correct this.

While the government is impotent to prevent another mass slaying we are not. If you live in a state that has concealed carry, get a permit, get training, and carry.

Work for the abolition of so called “gun free zones”.

I started this by saying that it’s the silent officials that worry me most. I know that the Frenzies on the left, play to people emotions, and they do not have my best interest at heart. But I don’t know what the silent ones are thinking, or doing, or planning on doing.


This much I know: I DON”T TRUST THEM. How can you possibly trust a government that has agencies like the ATF and TSA? How can you trust a government that brought us Ruby Ridge, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, or the NDDA? How can you trust a government when the Speaker of the House makes the statement, “We have to pass the law to know what’s in it”? How can you trust a government that labels a citizen as a terrorist for simply advocating support of the constitution? And how, pray tell, do you trust a government when its chief executive develops a “kill list” and causes the assignation of American citizens without charges filed or trials held? You don’t.

I will keep my arms. I will not register them. I will use them, if and when, I need to do so. And I will live as I was born, a FREE American.
